The Montgomery Playhouse would like to announce that we are slated to produce She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen in partnership with Gaithersburg Arts on the Green this August, pending the ever-changing crisis. This will be directed by Tom Barylski and produced by Michael Abendshein.
We are currently holding auditions through monologue submission online and will need many young people in their late teens/early twenties to audition.
The Montgomery Playhouse celebrates its 90th season with Catch Me If You Can, written by Robert Thomas, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert.
Overflowing with mirth, this comedy-whodunit will keep you guessing from beginning to end. An advertising man brings his bride to the boss’s mountain lodge for a honeymoon. The groom soon calls in the local police to investigate her sudden disappearance. Enter a pretty young girl who insists over his protests that she is the missing wife. A priest backs up her story. A local deli owner visits and before you know it there are two murders at the isolated lodge.
The show runs January 4 through 20, 2019, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m at the Arts Barn, located at 311 Kent Square Road in Gaithersburg. Admission is $20, $18 for students ages 15 – 21 with student ID. This show is recommended for ages 15 and older.
A play of monologues and ensemble pieces about women, clothes and memory covering all the important subjects—mothers, prom dresses, mothers, buying bras, mothers, hating purses and why we only wear black. Based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.
